Currently, the portal MarineWeather.eu provides two options of the "Text for weather" service.

• Basic forecast- for a given day of the week, for a given locality or geographic coordinates
• Detailed forecast- for specific 12 hours, in 3-hour intervals for a given locality or geographic coordinates

Basic forecast

The "text for Weather" service, in its basic version, is a system by which meteorological information is sent to mobile phone users. To get the current weather forecast text:

[Location]can be specified in three ways:

• By entering the name of the nearest town. Sample text(Please do not use German accents):

Split, Monday

• By entering the position, for example: 54.5N, 18.6 (note the spelling of commas and decimal points). Sample text:

54.5N, 18.6, Tuesday

• By entering the name of a lake (at the moment only in Poland), for example, sniardwy, 23 Sample text::

sniardwy, Thursday

Case does not matter. Names consisting of more than one word should be written together or separately, for example:Biograd Na Moru or biogradnamoru.

[Day of the week]  is a parameter that defines the day you want to receive the forecast for. For example, sending a text:

Dubrovnik, Friday

you will be sent a weather forecast for Poznan for Tuesday.

Instead of the full names of the days, you may also enter the first three letters, for example, instead of Monday, you can enter Mon, instead of Tuesday, you can enter Tue, instead of Wednesday, you can type Wed; instead Thursday you can text Thu, for Friday you can enter Fri, instead of Saturday you can type Sat, instead of Sunday - Sun.

Thus, texting both Dubrovnik, Monday and Dubrovnik, Mon will result in getting the same answer, that is the weather forecast for Dubrovnik on Monday.

Final remarks:

1. The system works based on local time (appropriate for the city for which the request was sent).

2. The service of sending a text with the forecast to the user is free of charge. The charge for sending a text message with a weather request to the MarineWeather.eu portal is paid by the user (according to the provider's price list).

3. A lack of response is usually caused by sending a wrong request, that is one that the system can not interpret (city name not found, wrong placement of commas and periods, the use of diacritics, etc.).

4. By using the "text for Weather" service, the user accepts the Terms of Service.

Detailed forecast

In addition to the forecast for a given day of the week, you can also receive a text message with a detailed weather forecast for a given 12 hours at 3-hour intervals.

In order to receive a text with a detailed weather forecast for the given 12 hours (in 3-hour intervals) text:

For example, sending a text:

Dubrovnik, Friday, 7:00

in response, you will be sent a 12-hour weather forecast for Dubrovnik starting at 7:00 am on Friday.

i.e. 12-hour weather forecast for Suwalki starting from 10:00 on Monday.

[Time]  is a parameter that defines the time of the day, on which the 12-hour forecast will begin (in 3-hour intervals). For example, sending a text:

Dubrovnik, Saturday, 7:00

in response, you will be sent a 12-hour weather forecast for Dubrovnik starting at 7:00 am on Friday.

The system supports the hours put in in the following formats:

• hh: mm (e.g. 07:00, while in the case of single-digit hours, it is permissible to omit the first zero i.e. instead of 07:00 type 7:00)
• hh (e.g. 14, which will mean 14:00 for the system)

Notes:

1.      The system handles queries for the following hours UTC: 00:00, 03:00, 06:00, 09:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00, 21:00. If a user enters a different time, the system will assign to the message, the closest hour from the aforementioned intervals.
